Our Mission

Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.

Non-proselytizing policy:  Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations will not proselytize. Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH. This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry whose mission is to eliminate substandard housing from around the world, and to make simple, decent, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Flagler Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1992 by a dedicated group of individuals who believed this mission should be applied to the community of Flagler County. Since it’s beginning, Flagler Habitat for Humanity has completed 113 homes for families in need who can now proudly call themselves homeowners and who enjoy living in safe and healthy houses.

Volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials allow Flagler Habitat for Humanity the opportunity to build homes with volunteers and future homeowners. The homes are then sold to partner families for no profit with no-interest mortgages. The funds received from mortgages paid are then used to continue building houses for more people in need.

A volunteer board of directors made up of individuals from our community direct and govern the work of this affiliate. Staff, committees, and volunteers perform the work necessary to make this vision a reality. Money, materials, labor, and donations of every type are raised in our community. No government funds are used for the building of Habitat houses, though they can be used to purchase land or build infrastructure. Therefore, we rely heavily upon the generosity and goodness of the businesses and people of this community to support the work done here.

Please help us work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to build houses for those in need, and to create communities in which everyone can live and grow into all God intended.
